Luxury lofts have been slipped discretely into two rustic bungalows in a tranquil sea breezy cashew and mango orchard just off Aswem beach. You can hear the waves quite distinctly and glimpse paddy fields and the distant sea through palm fronds from renovated grain-loft-bedrooms. Despite being close to the beach it is a sufficient distance away to be insulated from beach shack cacophony. The design style is minimalist and rooted in functionality and meditative zen values.
The staff is super polite and helpful and dole out the best fine dining while you come out of the three plunge pools in the courtyard. Designed by French and Danish designers, Shunyachi resorts has a couple more locations which are all built by restructuring old goan homes. Even the lamps are made of treated thin sheets of termite ridden wood beams. Very slick!
